Timmins and District Hospital in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking an RN to provide direct surgical nursing care and ensure adherence to nursing standards. Description du poste

To provide direct nursing care to Surgical Patients within the Standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the policies and procedures of Timmins and District Hospital.

• Must be proficient in medication administration, peripheral intravenous access and care, including I.V. administration according to TDH policy.
• Must demonstrate current performance and competency in skills associated with surgical nursing and adherence to Infection Control practices.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds to present information effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member.
• Must be in good health in order to attend work regularly and have strength and ability to provide complete surgical nursing care including the lifting and transferring of dependent patients.
• Must be organized and able to perform adequately under stress when confronted with unexpected and/or critical situations.
• Must be proficient in written and electronic documentation.
• Employment history which demonstrates regular attendance at work.

Starting salary of $36.70/hour; $71,565.00/year (As per Step 1 of the STW collective agreement.) to $38.78/hour; $75,621.00/year (As per Step 4 of the STW collective agreement.)

• Must possess a current Certificate of Competence issued by the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Practice Nurse.
• Must have the ability to perform independently, all skills published in the Standards of Nursing Practice, College of Nurses of Ontario and the learning ability to achieve and maintain organization competencies.
• Must maintain privacy and confidentiality as per hospital policy.
• Must possess recent experience in the care of patients with conditions related to urology, gynecology, respiratory, orthopedic surgery and general surgery, including care of chest tubes.
• Must possess and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and have a recent medication administration course.
• A minimum of one year of recent surgical nursing experience is preferable.
• All TADH staff members must follow the COVID-19 vaccination series in accordance with the most up-to-date vaccine guidance provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health.
• Starting salary of $34.84/hour; $67,938.00/year range to 36.83/hour; $71,818.50/year
