Timmins and District Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse Practitioner with obstetrics experience to join the Maternal Child Program. You will collaborate with obstetricians and GPOBs to provide high-quality maternity care and help implement an innovative collaborative care model in the district.

The role includes prenatal and postnatal care, screening, assessments, referrals, and care coordination, with a focus on patient-centered service and safe handovers to other providers.

Works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide medical care and treatment to women. with a focus on reproduction and gynecology. Will be integral in implementing an innovative collaborative care model for the Cochrane district that is seamless, facilitates timely access to care, prenatal care, post-natal care. The model leverages Nurse Practitioner OB extenders to maximize the expert OBGYN, GPOB team’s ability to provide oversight and lead and monitor high quality maternity care. This position will be reporting to the Maternal Child Manager.

• Collaborate closely with the obstetricians and GPOBs, providing support for obstetrical patients (including assessments, immunizations, screening)
• Operate outpatient clinics, support the OB, GP OBs in streamlining referrals and other roles as they continue to evolve in the development process.
• The NP will provide screening, assessment and intervention to clients that are referred to the clinic in collaboration with the physicians
• The successful candidate will be providing comprehensive patient centered care and hand over to appropriate level of care and/or primary care provider.
• Provide primary care as a physician extender by establishing and maintaining a caring therapeutic relationship, which focuses on the needs of the patients.
• Collaborate with the health care team to provide goal directed interventions and to reach identified client outcomes.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with individuals and community organizations that provide services to the client.
• Demonstrates leadership, delegating tasks appropriately, acting as a role model, mentor and resource person.
• The candidate will be key in planning, developing and implementing the program in collaboration with the physicians and the Maternal Child Program and other roles and responsibilities will be defined in the process.
• Perform wellness exams order diagnostic tests, provide prenatal, care, liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care
• Provide support to OB team at hospital site as required within the scope of the role
• Registered Nurse Practitioner.
• Registered and in good standing with respective regulating body.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with obstetrical patient’s
• Recent experience as an RN in the Maternal Child Program will be considered an asset
• Experience in program development and education
• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices
• Effective time management and ability to prioritize workload
• Must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision and must follow standardized procedures.
• Should be adaptable to cope with changing contacts with people, situations and conditions.
• Must have employment history which demonstrates regular attendance at work.

• Starting salary of $65.09/hour; $126,925.50/year (As per Step 1 of the ONA collective agreement.) ranges to 76.14/hour; $148,473.00/year (As per Step 9 of the ONA collective agreement.)
