Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in the Pediatric Special Care Unit, following hospital policies, and assuming charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

The RN will assess patients, organize and implement care, maintain competencies, administer medications, collaborate with health system staff, monitor outcomes, and support cost containment.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina or Compact state.
• 1-2 years of related clinical experience preferred.

• Recognizes life threatening situations and responds appropriately

• Actively participates in cost containment and assists in accurate charging for patient services
• Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of patients

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure

Unit Description

• Pediatric Special Care is a 7 Bed Unit consisting of Pediatric patients, working on a track schedule.
• Patient ratio 1:2.
• Our Care team consists of Registered Nurses, a Clinical Educator, Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Dieticians and Occupational and Speech Therapists.
• Our commitment is to always provide safe quality care by our highly skilled physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to our pediatric population.
• Our goal is to provide safe exceptional care in every aspect of our pediatric population’s hospital visit.

Work Experience

• 1- 2 years of related clinical experience preferred
• Ventilator Management
