Job summary

HSBC in Paris is seeking a Rates Repo Trader to price and manage fixed income financing transactions, focusing on repo operations with European securities. You will develop hedging strategies and generate trade ideas while collaborating with Sales, Risk and Trading teams.

The role requires strong trading experience in rates and repo products, plus the ability to manage counterparty risk and build client relationships in a fast-moving market environment.

Qualifications

• Strong trading experience with rates and credit repo products.
• Ability to assess, manage and control counterparty and market risk.
• Understanding hedging strategies across rates, credit and FX.

Responsibilities

• Price and risk-manage fixed income financing transactions, primarily repo transactions involving European fixed income securities.
• Trade and manage a range of related products (stock borrow/lending, forward bonds, cash bonds, FX swaps, futures, swaps).
• Develop cost-effective hedging strategies across rates, credit and FX markets.
• Generate trade ideas and discuss with Sales and clients, building relationships with clients and market participants.
• Monitor counterparty and market risks and adjust as market conditions change.
• Collaborate with Senior Management, Trading, Sales, Risk, Operations, Finance and Legal to support front-to-back deal processing.
• Contribute to improvement of products, tools and processes for the trading desk.
