Prysmian Group is seeking an R&D Engineer for the PCVD Specialty Fiber Preform Processes at the Douvrin site in France. You will drive development and scale-up of PCVD processes for Multi-Core and polarized specialty fibers, collaborating across R&D, Quality and Manufacturing to ensure robust, cost-effective production.

The role requires a Master’s in Engineering or Science (PhD preferred), strong DoE and data analytics skills, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or Science; PhD is a plus
• Experience in industrial R&D, process development, manufacturing engineering or technology development
• Knowledge of optical fiber manufacturing, glass processing, deposition technologies or plasma processes
• Strong experimental mindset with data analysis and problem solving
• Experience with DoE and process qualification methodologies
• Fluent English mandatory; French is a plus

Responsabilités

• Develop, optimize and industrialize PCVD processes for specialty fibers
• Lead process qualification and validation activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Define operating windows and qualification criteria based on experiments
• Drive continuous improvement for yield, cost, and robustness
• Support technology transfer to manufacturing and equipment upgrades
• Investigate deviations, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support technology transfer into manufacturing and share knowledge with international teams.
