Prysmian's Optical Fiber R&D team in Douvrin, France, seeks a candidate to drive PCVD process development and scale-up for specialty fibers. You will lead experiments, qualification, and industrialization, with focus on Multi-Core and Polarization Maintaining fibers.

The role requires strong data analysis skills, DoE experience, and collaboration across global teams. Fluent English is required; travel within Prysmian may be needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or Science; PhD a plus.
• Experience in industrial R&D, process development, or tech development.
• Knowledge of optical fiber manufacturing, deposition, plasma, and glass processing.
• Strong experimental mindset with data analysis and problem solving.
• Experience with DoE, process characterization, and industrial qualification methods.
• Knowledge of programming, data analytics and databases (Python, SQL).
• Fluent English is mandatory; French is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Develop, optimize, and industrialize manufacturing processes for specialty fiber preforms and fibers.
• Support development of advanced products: Multi-Core, Polarization Maintaining, reduced-diameter fibers.
• Define and analyze experimental programs to improve process capability and efficiency.
• Establish process specs, operating windows, and qualification criteria.
• Lead process qualification and validation with R&D, Quality, Process Control, and Manufacturing.
