Job summary

Alice & Bob is seeking a Quantum Algorithms Intern to estimate physical resources for a cat-qubit architecture. Based in France, you will review compact block-encoding techniques and map logical resources to the cat-qubit platform.

Reporting to the Quantum Algorithms Scientist, you will produce a reproducible physical resource estimate for a selected example and document the results. Starts January 2027 for 6 months.

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD student in physics or mathematics; currently enrolled
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Strong understanding of quantum computing fundamentals (circuit model, quantum gates)
• Ability to read and synthesize research literature and turn results into quantitative estimates
• Self-driven, autonomous and rigorous research approach
• Basic programming skills (Python) and willingness to implement reproducible code

Responsibilities

• Review block-encoding techniques with small footprint and compare their logical resources
• Estimate physical resources on a cat-qubit architecture and map logical resources to the architecture
• Compute the physical cat-qubit count and runtime in reproducible code and document results
