Job summary

Alice & Bob is building the first universal fault-tolerant quantum computer based on cat qubits. This internship focuses on developing compiler passes and IRs to exploit noise bias toward phase-flip errors.

You will work with the Compilation team to implement and test modern compilation techniques, benchmarking resource costs and integrating new passes into the existing compiler. January–March 2027 start for six months.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program or final year of an engineering school.
• Strong foundations in quantum computing and computer science.
• Ability to translate literature into tested code.
• Proficient in Python; knowledge of C++ or Rust is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build intermediate representations (IRs) and integrate compilation passes.
• Develop and test compiler passes and document the results.
• Benchmark resource costs of compiled programs (qubits, gates, runtime).
