Job summary

Alice & Bob is seeking a Research Intern to advance simulation methods for many-mode cat-qubit systems. You will work closely with the Device Theorist and CNOT team to explore tensor-network approaches and quantum trajectories to quantify error probabilities in complex multi-qubit settings.

The role starts February 2027 for six months and offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum computing research. English proficiency and a strong numerical background are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physics, quantum engineering or applied mathematics.
• Proficient in English.
• Strong background in quantum mechanics and open quantum systems."
• Programming experience in Python or Julia for scientific computing.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop simulation methods for many-mode cat-qubit systems.
• Estimate error probabilities and rates from simulated trajectories.
• Validate and benchmark the approach against exact results and theory.
• Interpret the physics of errors in multi-mode operations.
• Document methods and present progress to the team.
