Job summary

Alice & Bob is building the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer. This internship focuses on physical resource estimation for cat-qubit architectures and includes coding a reproducible resource estimate from selected subroutines.

The role reports to the Quantum Algorithm Scientist and starts January 2027 for six months, with a focus on turning theory into quantitative estimates and communicating results clearly.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in MSc or PhD in physics or mathematics.
• Strong interest in quantum computing and algorithms.
• Ability to read and synthesize research literature from papers.
• Excellent written and oral communication of technical results.
• Autonomy and rigour in research work.

Responsibilities

• Review compact block-encoding techniques and compare their resources.
• Estimate physical resources on the cat-qubit architecture and document results.
