Job summary

Quandela is seeking a motivated intern to investigate energy costs of quantum operations within the SPOQC architecture. You will develop simulations and analytical descriptions of energy costs for qubit operations, using current models.

The internship focuses on balancing computational performance and energy consumption, applying models to simple quantum algorithms, with potential to contribute to a quantum energy advantage. Remote work is possible.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Master’s program, or equivalent academic program, in either quantum physics or quantum information.
• Strong programming skills in Python.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Device Physics group meetings and meet regularly with supervisors.
• Develop an understanding of existing methods for calculating the energy cost of quantum computing in the spin-optical architecture.
• Develop numerical simulations and analytical descriptions of the energy costs associated with qubit operations.
• Apply the developed models to simple quantum algorithms and computational tasks to investigate the potential emergence of quantum energy advantage.
