Job summary

Odaseva seeks a Quality Engineer to join a structured QA community across France and the United States. You will work in an Agile Product squad, collaborating closely with developers and product managers, reporting to the Manager of Quality Engineering.

This is a full-time, hybrid Paris-based role with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Required is an Engineering degree or Master’s with 7+ years in technical QA or development, and hands-on experience with Playwright, PactumJS, Jest,

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or Master’s degree with 7+ years in technical QA or development.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, PactumJS, Jest, Postman, or Cucumber; familiarity with Cypress is valued.
• Solid knowledge of BDD and test management tools like Xray; CI/CD understanding with GitLab CI.

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive and efficient test cases based on product requirements and user stories; execute manual and automated tests.
• Develop, maintain, and run automated test scripts to ensure long-term efficiency.
• Lead collaboration within your squad to define and prioritize quality requirements from the start.
• Identify, document, and track defects in Jira; work with engineers to resolve them.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Advocate for QA best practices and contribute to agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews).
• Participate in agile ceremonies to foster a strong quality mindset throughout the development cycle.

About The Role

Due to significant growth and to address the evolving needs of our QA team, we are seeking a Quality Engineer . You will join a structured QA community of about half a dozen engineers based across France and the United States, allowing you to share best practices and grow technically with your international peers. On a daily basis, you will be fully integrated into an Agile Product squad, working hand-in-hand with developers and product managers. You will report directly to the Manager of the Quality Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Case Design & Execution: Design comprehensive and efficient test cases based on product requirements and user stories. Execute tests (both manual and automated) to ensure product quality and functionality meet our high defined standards.
• Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts to ensure long-term efficiency and scalability in our testing processes.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Act as a leadership driving force within your squad. You will actively lead the collaboration between the Product Manager (PM) and Developers to define, clarify, and prioritize quality and testability requirements from the very start.
• Bug Tracking & Analysis : Identify, document, and track defects in Jira, and work with the engineering team to prioritize and resolve them.
• CI/CD Integration : Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) to streamline the release process.
• Quality Culture : Act as an internal advocate for QA best practices, helping the whole team maintain high standards.
• Participation in Agile Ceremonies: Actively contribute to all agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring a strong quality mindset throughout the development cycle.

Required Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Engineering degree or Master’s degree with 7 years of experience in a technical QA or development field.
• Testing Frameworks & Tools: Strong hands‑on experience with tools like Playwright, PactumJS, Jest, Postman, or Cucumber . Familiarity with other frameworks like Cypress or RestAssured is also highly valued.
• Methodology & Test Management: Solid knowledge of BDD (Behavior‑Driven Development) and familiarity with test management tools like Xray (or similar).
• CI/CD & Innovation: Good knowledge of CI/CD workflows using GitLab CI (or similar tools). A strong interest and familiarity with leveraging AI tools to optimize testing efficiency is a plus.

Nice to Have

Prior experience with Salesforce testing is a significant advantage.

Languages

Fully fluent in both English and French (essential for daily collaboration with both your local squad and US-based QA peers).
