Job Overview

My client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Manager for a critical power plant conversion project located in Ajaccio, Corsica. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

– Manage timely submission of environmental permit documentation

– Ensure project activities align with HSE policies and procedures

– Collate and report monthly environmental statistics to the corporate HSE team

– Develop and support environmental personnel within the project construction team

– Monitor waste collection, transport, and disposal in compliance with local regulations

– Prepare and implement Environmental Management Plans

– Participate in company environmental meetings

– Provide expert advice on environmental best practices

– Coordinate internal communications on environmental matters

– Liaise with HSE regulatory bodies on permitting and legal compliance

– Support incident investigation and environmental monitoring

Requirements

Professional Qualifications

– Internationally recognized qualification in Environmental Management (IEMA, ISO 14001 or equivalent)

– Engineering background preferred

– Membership of professional environmental bodies

Experience

– Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas industry

– Minimum 5 years in an Environmental coordination role

– Experience interfacing with major operators is advantageous

Language & Skills

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills

– Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
