Job summary

Harmattan AI is seeking a Forward-Deployed Engineer for the Test Bench team to own production test stations on the factory floor, ensuring reliability and ergonomic design, and to act as the feedback channel between operators and the engineering team.

You will lead hardware/software integration, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with Automation Software Engineers to bring new stations to production readiness in a Paris-area manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in production/industrial environment (manufacturing or robotics preferred).
• Hardware familiarity: wiring, fixtures, component swaps, basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with 3D CAD design and mechanical integration; control cabinets a plus.
• Proficient with Python and Linux; read logs, run scripts, configure and debug at CLI.
• Strong root cause analysis; look for second causes when needed.
• Excellent communication skills with operators and engineers in Paris; fluent French and professional English.

Responsibilities

• Own deployed test stations and ensure production-grade reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues at stations and escalate with clear specs.
• Identify recurring failures and ergonomic friction; implement lasting fixes.
• Build operator trust and drive adoption.
• Translate floor observations into actionable feedback for the engineering team.
• Lead new station bring-up and validate readiness for production.
• Perform hardware interventions and integrate new sensors/cameras into the stack.
