Qualifications

  • Experience with safety analysis techniques (FTA, Event Tree, etc.).
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Understanding of safety management plans.

Responsabilités

  • Creating and maintaining project Hazard Logs.
  • Identifying and analyzing accidents, hazards, and risks.
  • Creating reports for safety assessments.

Connaissances

Experience with Safety Management System processes
Understanding of safety assessment processes
Knowledge of safety standards

Experience with hazard identification methodologies

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking activities in Safety Management Plans as directed by the Project Safety Manager;
  • Recording and archiving project safety requirements and ensuring they are included on the project design baseline;
  • Identifying and analysing accidents, hazards, and risks;
  • Creating and maintaining project Hazard Logs with traceability to causes, consequences, and risk control measures;
  • Collecting evidence for Safety Assessments/Cases;
  • Reporting and resolving safety issues;
  • Creating reports and artifacts to support safety assessments, including deliverables.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience with Safety Management System processes and safety analysis techniques (FTA, Event Tree, FMECA, RBD, LOPA, QRA);
  • Understanding of safety assessment processes and safety management plans;
  • Knowledge of safety standards (Def Stan, BSEN, ISO, IEC);
  • Familiarity with safety requirements capture and management processes;
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory safety requirements (HASAWA, EU Directives);
  • Experience with hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies (HAZID, HAZOP, FHA, BowTies);
  • Ability to create and maintain hazard logs;
  • Understanding of safety requirements flow-down from third-party organizations;
  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis;
  • Awareness of safety engineering tools (BowTieXP, FaultTree+, etc.) and application.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in a scientific or engineering field; Masters or postgraduate level is advantageous;
  • HNC/HND with relevant experience may be acceptable.
