The company

Founded in 2013, Cailabs designs, manufactures, and develops innovative photonic solutions for the space, industry, telecommunications, and defense sectors. A global specialist in laser shaping, the company has accelerated its growth in the space field with turnkey optical ground stations that integrate atmospheric turbulence compensation technology. This makes it one of the first companies to harness very high data rates enabled by optics in a commercial ground station.

Cailabs currently has more than 200 employees, including 41PhDs. With 29 patent families filed, the company is one of the most innovative companies in France. It is headquartered in Rennes, with offices in Paris and Washington (USA).

Post description

Within Cailabs’ Products & Partnerships team, you will be supervised by Nicolas, Product Manager for Optical Ground Stations. Your objective will be to actively contribute to the definition of products within the TILBA space communications range, particularly Optical Ground Stations (OGS), which enable communications between Earth and satellites.

You will also contribute to creating content for users, prospective customers and partners, working closely with the product, technical, sales and communications teams.

Examples of typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to the definition and improvement of the OGS user experience and customer interface, based on operational cycle mapping, persona definition and the user journey.
  • Participating in workshops to define innovative products and conducting interviews with various stakeholders.
  • Creating explanatory materials on key product features, including showcasing concrete solutions developed for our customers and producing supporting materials for customer training.
Profile required
Key skills:
  • Engineering school or Master’s student (optics, telecommunications, computer science, general engineering), ideally pursuing a dual curriculum combining engineering with product marketing or innovative project management
  • Strong interest in photonics technologies, advanced communication systems and the space industry
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and explain them clearly to a variety of audiences (customers, partners, scientific community)
  • Strong communication skills: collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with both technical and marketing teams
  • Fluent English: essential for writing documents in English and collaborating in an international environment
Nice to have:
  • Initial experience in UX/UI design, ergonomics or product marketing, through an academic project or internship
  • Interest in technical data visualization, including selecting relevant indicators and creating dashboards and reports
  • Basic knowledge of web development, REST APIs or data processing
Work environment:
  • An innovative, fast-growing company
  • A young and dynamic team
