You will collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, and QHSE, travel regularly across Europe for certification activities, and contribute to continuous improvement and standardization efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years in product engineering, certification, or regulatory affairs in construction products.
  • Experience with certification bodies and testing labs.
  • Excellent technical communication and presentation skills.
  • International/multicultural experience is a plus.

Description du poste

The Product Certification, Performance & Lab Engineer based in Lyon plays a dual role: internally, ensuring product certification, testing, performance and standardization requirements are effectively managed across Dextra’s product portfolio; externally, building and maintaining relationships with certification bodies, regulatory authorities, testing laboratories, engineering consultants and industry stakeholders to support product approvals, certification, technical validation and market access across Europe, while progressively influencing international codes, standards, and industry practices.

Working closely with Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, QHSE, Sales and Business Development teams, as well as Dextra’s Certification and Product Engineering & Performance teams, the role serves as Dextra Europe's technical interface for product certification, testing, standardization, and regulatory compliance activities. It supports product development and qualification, technical investigations and complex customer applications and the successful introduction of new products in the European market.

The role combines technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, testing capabilities and stakeholder engagement to strengthen Dextra's position as a trusted technical partner in the European construction market and contribute to continuous product improvement, standardization and research activities.

The position requires regular travel across Europe to support certification activities, technical committees, research collaboration, customer engagement and industry events.

1.Product Certification & Regulatory Compliance
  • Coordinate product certification activities in Europe in collaboration with Dextra's Certification Team based in Thailand.
  • Support the development and implementation of certification roadmaps for new products and market expansion within Europe.
  • Manage relationships with certification bodies, notified bodies, regulatory authorities, and testing laboratories, acting as Dextra’s technical liaison on certification matters
  • Coordinate internal and external testing programs required for product approvals, certifications and project-specific acceptance in European markets.
  • Support the preparation, review, and submission of technical documentation, certification dossiers, and approval applications.
  • Coordinate and monitor external manufacturing and processing partners operating Dextra equipment in Europe to ensure compliance with applicable certification schemes, including CE Marking requirements, Factory Production Control (FPC), and other relevant regulations.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, surveillance audits, certification reviews, renewals and technical assessments as required by certification and approval bodies.
  • Support the planning and monitoring of certification budgets and testing expenditures for the European region.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory frameworks, certification schemes, and applicable standards that may impact Dextra products, certifications and market access.
2.Testing, Investigation & Technical Support
  • Operate internal test equipment for tensile, fatigue, slip, cyclic, and other investigative testing activities.
  • Coordinate testing programs and technical investigations together with the team in Thailand to support certification projects, product development, quality assessments, regulatory submissions, and the validation of new products within Europe.
  • Provide technical expertise to support complex customer applications, project approvals and product qualification.
  • Promote Dextra’s technologies to contractors, designers, and consultants by providing technical presentations, training, and specification support.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Sales teams to secure product inclusion in project specifications.
  • Support Product Management and R&D by providing technical feedback from certification activities, testing programs, consultants and customers.
  • Support the development of DEXTRA products in coordination with the DEXTRA Group Engineering Department.
  • Prepare technical inputs supporting DEXTRA's positions in standardization committees, including technical studies, literature reviews, testing evidence, and position papers.
  • Support internal and external research collaborations related to standardization activities.
  • Develop collaborations with universities, research centers, and technical partners on research and technical studies.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities for research and innovation projects.
  • Promote the application of research outcomes to standards, products, and business development.
  • Analyze trends in design codes, specifications, certification requirements and market needs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Document best practices, maintain technical documentation and deliver training to internal teams on standards, certifications and regulatory developments.
  • Support R&D and product development with specification, standardization and certification insights, contributing to the successful introduction of new products.
  • Analyze specification success rates and certification performance, recommending improvements to certification processes, product documentation and technical practices.
  • Prepare reports on specification wins, standardization progress, certification activities and code-influence initiatives.
  • Share technical knowledge and lessons learned across regional and global teams.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in product engineering, certification, specification management, technical marketing or regulatory affairs within the construction products industry.
  • Proven experience engaging with certification bodies, testing laboratories
  • Experience supporting commercial teams through technical specification, product qualification and market access activities.
  • Excellent technical communication and presentation skills.
  • International and multicultural working experience is an advantage.
Technical Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry standards and regulatory frameworks, including Eurocodes, CE Marking, European Technical Assessments (ETA/EAD), ISO standards, and structural materials and reinforcement technologies.
  • Good understanding of structural design principles and reinforced concrete design.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (e.g. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), environmental regulations and circular economy initiatives) would be an advantage.
  • French preferred.
  • Additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Technical documentation management systems.
  • Experience using AI-assisted productivity tools.
  • Data analysis and reporting tools.
