Arm Limited is seeking a Principal Software Engineer on the Sophia Antipolis campus to lead a firmware team and advance Arm's AGI CPU software ecosystem. You will work with distributed teams, drive architecture and software stack development for Arm reference platforms, and uphold high standards of efficiency, quality, and predictability.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on firmware work, and collaboration across disciplines in a hybrid environment within France.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and line managing an experienced firmware team.
• Strong background in embedded C programming with debugging and optimization skills.
• Expertise in Linux development including OS fundamentals, device drivers and kernel modules.
• Familiarity with Agile development, CI and automated testing; experience across full software lifecycle.
• Experience collaborating with open-source projects such as Linux kernel, TF-A, TF-M, UEFI EDK II, OpenBMC.

Job Overview:

Arm is seeking a skilled, experienced, and highly motivated Software Technical Lead located in Sophia Antipolis, to join our Software Engineering group. As a member of the System Solutions team, you will have the opportunity to enable the evolution of Arm AGI CPU software ecosystem. You will be working with a distributed team spread across Arm's worldwide engineering centers.

• You will provide technical expertise and leadership to the team, including leading and line managing an experienced firmware team.
• You will drive the team to accomplish its goals and continuously improve performance.
• You will analyse industry specs, roadmap requirements, break down tasks, and help implement project plans.
• You will collaborate closely with technical leads, technology managers, and distributed development teams to deliver roadmap commitments.
• You will be actively involved in software design and creation of software stacks for Arm's reference platforms, and lead development practices for best-in-class software efficiency, quality, and predictability.

Required Skills and Experience:

• You have experience and skills for people management, including recruiting, managing talent, team building, and developing team members.
• You have a strong background in embedded C programming, with proven skills in debugging and optimizing system software components.
• You possess expertise in Linux development (OS fundamentals, device drivers and kernel modules), and a good understanding of computer architecture and microarchitecture concepts, ideally for the Arm architecture.
• You have experience across the full software lifecycle, from concept to delivery and maintenance. You're familiar with Agile development, CI, and automated testing.
• You have experience collaborating with and contributing to open-source projects such as Linux kernel, TF-A, TF-M, UEFI EDK II, OpenBMC.

Nice To Have Skills and Experience:

• Experience in development and validation of production quality firmware in server segment.
• Experience with OpenBMC project.
• Familiarity with technologies such as RAS, hypervisors, CXL, power management, secure boot.
• Experience with Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices
