Job summary

Energy Jobline ATTB is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong Power Systems and PSCAD/EMT experience to work on hyperscale data centres, BESS, microgrids, and next-energy infrastructure from a fully remote US/Canada position.

You will collaborate with senior engineers on technically challenging projects across data centres and energy infrastructure, delivering client-ready reports and analyses.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of power systems experience.
• Experience with PSCAD/EMT modelling.
• Experience with PSS/E, ETAP or DIgSILENT.
• Strong understanding of power systems and machine dynamics.
• Python or MATLAB and RTDS/HIL experience would be desirable.

Responsibilities

Electrical Engineer – Power System Studies

I’m currently supporting a

specialist power engineering consultancy

that is growing its team and looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong

Power Systems and PSCAD/EMT experience .

You’ll work directly with senior engineers on technically challenging projects across

hyperscale data centres, behind-the-meter , BESS, microgrids and next- energy infrastructure .

What you’ll work on:

• PSCAD / EMT modelling
• building, validating and running electromagnetic transient models
• Power system studies
• load flow, short circuit, dynamic stability, protection coordination and RAM
• BESS & inverter-based resources
• including grid-forming and grid-following controls
• Data centre & microgrid projects
• large-load dynamics, islanded systems and behind-the-meter
• Synchronous machines & controls
• AVR, governors and PSS
• Technical reports and client-facing engineering deliverables
• Emerging technologies including
• HVDC, SMRs and advanced power system controls

Ideal background:

• 5–8 years’ power systems experience
• Strong hands-on xsgimln
• PSCAD / EMT modelling
• experience
• Experience with PSS/E, ETAP or DIgSILENT
• Solid understanding of power systems, symmetrical components and machine dynamics
• Experience with
• IBRs, BESS, HVDC or power electronics
• Python/MATLAB and RTDS/HIL experience would be highly desirable
