The CNRS Centre for Research in Psychology and Neuroscience (CRPN) invites applications for a Postdoctoral researcher on the OrDOTime project. The fellow will design experiments, collect behavioral data from children, adults and primates, and work across lab, school settings, and field sites.

The role includes data analysis, writing scientific articles, presenting findings, and engaging in the DéPhy team's activities, with occasional fieldwork at Marseille area and Saint-Charles campus.

Qualifications

• Skills in experimental research are desirable.
• Knowledge of numerical cognition and/or developmental psychology is advantageous.
• A background in cognitive science, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, or ethology is expected.
• Proficiency in programming (Python/Java) and data analysis (R/MATLAB) is advantageous.

Responsabilités

Offer Description

Postdoctoral research position on the ANR OrDOTime project, which aims to understand the origins, development, and specificity of ordinal representations of time. The recruited researcher will be responsible for: (i) designing empirical protocols to collect behavioural data from children, adults, and non-human primates; (ii) conducting experiments and collecting data from these populations, in school settings and in the laboratory; (iii) analysing data and interpreting results; (iv) writing scientific articles presenting the results of this research, with the aim of submitting them to leading international journals in the field; (v) disseminating the project's findings to the international scientific community (conferences, talks). In addition, the recruited researcher will be expected to join the Centre for Research in Psychology and Neuroscience (CRPN) and participate in the scientific activities of the Development and Phylogeny (DéPhy) team.
The recruited researcher will work closely with Principal Investigator of the OrDOTime project, and a collaborator on the project.

Literature review, design of behavioural experiments, data collection, data analysis, writing scientific articles, participation in team meetings, scientific communication.

The recruited researcher will join the Centre for Research in Psychology and Neuroscience (CRPN, AMU, CNRS), and will be part of the Development and Phylogeny (DéPhy) team. Depending on the research activities, they may be required to work at the AMU Saint-Charles university campus, at the Rousset-sur-Arc primatology station, in the field in the Marseille area (schools), as well as remotely.
Constraints and risks: The recruited researcher will be required to be present at the Saint-Charles site for team meetings, as well as at the Rousset-sur-Arc site during data collection.

Eligibility criteria

Skills in experimental research are desirable. Knowledge of the scientific literature in numerical cognition and/or developmental psychology will be considered an advantage. A background in cognitive science, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, or ethology is expected. Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, Java), as well as in data analysis (e.g., R, MATLAB), will be considered an advantage.
