Job summary

University of Rouen Normandy invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher/ research engineer focused on experimental biology and bioinformatics analyses of metagenomic data. Based at INSERM U1311 DYNAMICURE, you will contribute to the MICROBIOPOL project and work with a multidisciplinary team across microbiology, bioinformatics, and air quality experts.

Qualifications

• PhD in Microbiology or related field required.
• Solid hands-on molecular biology experience.
• Experience with shotgun metagenomics is valued.
• Proficiency in Linux/Linux shell scripting.
• Experience with SLURM on HPC clusters.
• English or French fluency.

Responsibilities

• Extract nucleic acids from respiratory samples.
• Prepare high-throughput sequencing libraries.
• Operate Illumina sequencing on Asgard platform.
• Perform QC on sequencing data.
• Run bioinformatics workflows on HPC.
• Analyze data with R and assess dysbiosis.
• Prepare articles for journals and present at conferences.
• Co-supervise Masters students or interns.
