Inria Paris, within the ALMAnaCH project-team, seeks a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Medieval French Philology for the ROMAM² project. The postdoc will build gold corpora from the Nouveau Corpus d'Amsterdam, annotate tokens, and quantify editorial normalization effects on Old French dialectometry.

The position, based in Paris, is for 18 months, starting March 2027, supervised by Thibault Clérice and collaborating with NLP researchers, PhD candidates, and external partners like David Smith.

Qualifications

• PhD in philology, historical linguistics, medieval studies or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Old French and palaeography.
• Experience with XML-TEI encoding and digital humanities workflows.
• Ability to program (Python or R) and process structured data.

Responsabilités

• Carry out research on ROMAM²'s philological foundations and evaluation framework.
• Build gold-standard corpora from the Nouveau Corpus d'Amsterdam and annotate tokens.
• Collaborate with NLP researchers, linguists and external partners to assess normalization effects.
