CNRS, Laboratoire de Psychologie Sociale et Cognitive (LAPSCO) in Clermont-Ferrand, invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) position within the PADMEN project. The successful candidate will develop multilingual discourse analysis, build an annotation scheme, and fine-tune detection models for misinformation on HMPV.

You hold a PhD in sociology or computational social science with NLP experience on social media data, and you wish to apply sociological theories to health questions.

Qualifications

• PhD in sociology or computational social science with NLP experience on social media content.
• Experience with multilingual data (English and French) is essential.

Responsabilités

• Conduct literature review and benchmark health misinformation detection methods.
• Prepare multilingual HMPV corpus and document the data pipeline.
• Identify recurrent discourses and build a typology of discourses.
• Design annotation guidelines and organize labeling with intercoder reliability.
• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate models for misinformation detection using transformer architectures.
• Analyze temporal and relational dynamics of discourse circulation and perform scientometric analyses.
• Interpret results in light of sociological theories of belief diffusion and disinformation.
• Publish scientific articles in English and present findings at conferences.
