The ColOx project at Institut Pasteur in Paris invites applications for two postdoctoral researchers to study how O2 levels regulate the human colonic barrier using organ-on-chip models and infection challenges.
The 36‑month position joins the Tissue homeostasis group in Paris, under Nathalie Sauvonnet. Applications close 19/09/2026; please email nathalie.sauvonnet@pasteur.fr with your CV and a brief statement of research interests.
We are delighted to announce that our Colox project has received funding from the ANR!
We are recruiting two postdoctoral researchers at the Institut Pasteur in Paris.
One of them will be recruited for a period of 36 months to join my group https://research.pasteur.fr/en/team/group-nathalie-sauvonnet/.
The ColOx project aims to define the role of O₂ levels in the human colonic barrier under physiological and infectious conditions by challenging the system with CD infection and neutrophils.
Project objectives are to determine:
By integrating patient-derived colonic organoids, endothelial and immune cells into organ-on-chip devices exposed to controlled O₂ environments, ColOx enables causal studies of epithelial, microbial, and immune interactions. Using an interdisciplinary approach—including live O₂ mapping, transcriptomic analyses, mucus characterization, CD infection assays, and neutrophil functional studies—ColOx will generate novel insights into how O₂ regulates barrier function and host–microbe dynamics in health and disease.
