Inria Paris invites applications for a PhD position in the Quantum computing Architectures, Algorithms, Applications and their Theory (QAT) team. The project targets systematic discovery and classification of non-Gaussian quantum states for quantum error correction, with a focus on ground states of polynomial Hamiltonians and symmetry analysis.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with quantum error correction concepts is preferred.
  • Strong background in quantum information science and algebraic structures is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English for oral and written communication.

Responsabilités

  • Systematically generate and classify ground-state manifolds of low-degree polynomial Hamiltonians.
  • Identify and exploit discrete symmetries of parent Hamiltonians to predict properties of ground states.
  • Evaluate quantum error correction capabilities of identified states and their resilience to noise.
  • Extend framework toward CSS-like codes and higher-order polynomial generalizations.
  • Contribute to literature reviews and numerical simulations; write reports.
