COFUND QuanG invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) PhD position within the QuanG2 PhD Call. The project focuses on Josephson parametric amplifiers using InAs nanowire junctions and requires a Master’s degree by the deadline.

Applicants must meet MSCA mobility rules and have no doctoral degree at start. Fully funded three-year program in Grenoble, France, with international research exposure.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification by the application deadline.
  • Must not hold a doctoral degree at start of the PhD.
  • Must comply with MSCA mobility rule: not resided in France >12 months in the 36 months before deadline.
  • No nationality or age restrictions.

Responsabilités

  • Fabricate Josephson junctions using inclined InAs nanowires.
  • Evaluate quality of superconducting thin films on nanowires.
  • Characterize DC properties of Josephson junctions at low temperature.
  • Fabricate a functional Josephson parametric amplifier for GHz operation.
  • Perform measurements in a dilution refrigerator to assess gate tunability and noise temperature.
