Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Shifts available 7a-7p and 7p-7a; you choose the schedules that fit your life.

As a PCU RN, you will provide high-quality care in acute-care settings, monitor cardiac rhythms, administer meds, document care, and collaborate with physicians while enjoying flexible pay options and weekly/daily pay.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• AHA BLS required.
• AHA ACLS required.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required by facility.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments
