Job summary

Prysmian Group's R&D Optical Fiber unit in Douvrin, France seeks an R&D Draw Process Engineer to define and optimize draw processes for multicore and polarization-maintaining fibers. You will report to the R&D Draw & Measurement Manager and drive project execution from conception to transfer to production.

You will lead experiments, collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams, and promote safety and continuous improvement in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• A bac+5 / general engineering degree (e.g., École des Mines, INSA, etc.).
• First experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong team spirit, recognized for your methodology, rigor, agility, and versatility.
• Proficiency in professional English and Microsoft Office.
• Management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define, plan, execute, analyze, and qualify R&D projects for new products.
• Prepare detailed test reports and support transfer to plants.
• Initiate and monitor experiments to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with Product, Process Control, Engineering and Maintenance teams.
• Identify and implement process modifications to improve efficiency.
• Organize and conduct training sessions for knowledge transfer.
• Apply health, safety and environmental regulations and promote best safety practices.
