CNRS in Lyon seeks a First Stage Researcher to develop and validate novel ostracod-based radiocarbon dating methods for lagoon-coastal environments. You will co-supervise field sampling, prepare and analyze sediment and ostracod specimens, and build palaeoenvironmental age-depth models with uncertainty analyses.
The role requires strong taxonomic and ecological knowledge of ostracods, proficiency with SEM and image/data tools, and the ability to communicate results through reports and papers.
Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of lagoon-coastal palaeoenvironments and port geoarchaeology.
- Taxonomic, ecological and biogeographical knowledge of ostracods, especially Cyprideis torosa.
- Experience with building and interpreting palaeoenvironmental age-depth models (MAPP).
Responsabilités
- Co-supervise coring campaigns and describe cores.
- Carry out sediment and ostracod sample analysis and dating preparation.
- Develop and validate MAPP-based age-depth models.
- Produce literature reviews and disseminate results via reports and papers.
- Assist in laboratory management and supervision of students.
