Transportation Partners & Logistics is seeking an Operational Excellence Field Specialist to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization, enhancing operational efficiency and productivity. The specialist will lead strategic projects for process improvement while ensuring alignment with the company’s goals.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of operations management experience with proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. This role involves significant travel and the ability to work in various environments, including construction sites.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in operations management, process improvement, or business transformation roles.
  • Proven track record implementing Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or service operations is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

  • Lead and manage continuous improvement programs using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce waste, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure operational performance.
  • Partner with teams to analyze processes and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops to promote a culture of operational excellence.

Job Summary

The Operational Excellence Field Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization to optimize operational efficiency, quality, and productivity. The role leads strategic projects focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and performance enhancement, ensuring alignment with the company’s operational goals and business strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage continuous improvement programs across all operational areas using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce waste, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee standardization of best practices, process documentation, and workflow optimization across departments.
  • Manage strategic improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable ROI.
  • Support change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of process and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute the Operations Excellence roadmap.
  • Benchmark internal performance against industry standards to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5–8 years of experience in operations management, process improvement, or business transformation roles.
  • Proven track record implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or service operations is highly desirable.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around construction sites for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding to access various work areas when required.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, and crouch as needed to inspect work or evaluate processes on site.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or equipment up to 25–30 pounds occasionally.
  • Tolerance to varying environmental conditions including noise, dust, heat, cold, and outdoor weather.
  • Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely navigate job sites and observe operational activities.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vests, and steel-toe boots.
  • Requires up to 100% travel.
