Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd in France is seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor for a contract role on site. The role focuses on ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are applied consistently across site operations, with day-to-day monitoring and proactive risk management.

You will investigate incidents, conduct risk assessments, deliver safety briefings, and support environmental compliance while collaborating with operations, maintenance and contractors on a hands-on basis.

Qualifications

• Experience as HSE Supervisor/Officer in industrial/manufacturing/engineering settings.
• Solid knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and good practice.
• Experience with risk assessment, incident investigation and safety auditing.
• Familiarity with permit to work systems and contractor management on site.
• Clear communication to engage and influence people at all levels.
• Proficient IT skills and use of reporting/record-keeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the implementation of HSE policies across site activities.
• Carry out site inspections, safety walks and audits, and follow up on findings.
• Support preparation and communication of risk assessments and method statements.
• Manage permit to work systems and ensure controls before high-risk work.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; track corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings to employees and contractors.
• Monitor contractor activity and compliance with site rules.
• Support environmental compliance, including waste management and emergency response.
• Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare reports for management.
• Support audits and help close out audit actions.
• Promote safe behaviours and engage workforce in safety improvements.
