Air Apps is seeking a Backend QA Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our backend systems. You will focus on testing APIs, databases, and backend services while collaborating closely with engineers to maintain high-quality standards across our infrastructure.

This is a fully onsite role based at our Lisbon office, with relocation assistance available. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience with backend technologies such as Node.js and TypeScript, and

Qualifications

• 2–3 years backend QA/testing experience.
• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript in backend environments.
• Familiar with PostgreSQL and SQL data validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute tests for APIs, databases, and service integrations.
• Validate API functionality and performance using Postman/Swagger.
• Test and verify database operations, queries, and data integrity in PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with engineering to review pull requests and ensure test coverage.
• Support automated tests for backend services.
• Review backend infrastructure for reliability and performance issues.
• Document defects and test cases using test management tools such as TestRail.
• Work with developers and product teams to improve testing strategies.
