Job summary

Air Apps is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain server-side components powering our AI-powered PRP platform. You will work with product managers, frontend engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable backend services in a fast-paced, onsite Lisbon office.

Relocation assistance is available. The role emphasizes REST/GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL with Supabase, and cloud deployments on GCP/AWS/Azure, with a focus on secure, clean architecture and robust

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Supabase or PostgreSQL-based backend services.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Solid knowledge of Clean Code and Clean Architecture practices.
• Experience with API design (REST) and cloud-native application development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing tools, and Git workflows.
• Strong grasp of security principles, data protection, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• API & Service Architecture - Design and build RESTful or GraphQL APIs, microservices, and business logic using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Database Design & Integration - Model data and manage queries using PostgreSQL, including functions and security.
• Cloud Infrastructure - Deploy and manage services on cloud platforms, including serverless compute.
• Code Quality & Testing - Write clean, testable code and contribute to reviews.
• Security & Reliability - Implement secure-by-default authentication, authorization and data protection.
• Monitoring & Operations - Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting for backend services.
• Team Collaboration - Participate in architecture discussions and document decisions.
