Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer Foreman to coordinate crews, prepare and supply materials, and supervise laborers on construction sites. The role requires reading blueprints, enforcing safety, and translating job orders into working procedures.

You will lead teams, adjust work sequences to meet schedules, estimate labor needs, and resolve issues while maintaining records. A union training, valid driver's license, and 3+ years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years related experience.
• Must possess union specific training.
• Current driver's license.
• Ability to operate tools and equipment (including power/non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers).
• Experience with machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; openness to feedback.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs; assistance required beyond 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate laborers and their roles.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Enforce safety regulations and company policies.
• Adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules using equipment knowledge.
• Estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Maintain time records and make cost estimates.
• Provide direction to laborer I/II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers.
• Lead by example and coach team members on performance.
