Vulcain Engineering Group in Paris area is seeking an Offshore Installation Analysis Engineer to contribute to the installation of offshore pipelines and subsea structures.

You will develop numerical models, perform load calculations, and support offshore operations, with Python scripting to automate post-processing. Proficiency in OrcaFlex and a strong background in offshore engineering are required. Fluency in English; French is a plus. Start ASAP; full-time role based in Paris area.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or Master’s in offshore related field.
• Experience with offshore installation projects and pipelines.
• Proven ability to develop and run numerical models for offshore structures.
• Proficiency in OrcaFlex or similar dynamic simulation tools.
• Strong Python scripting for data processing and automation.

Your role

As an Offshore Installation Analysis Engineer, you will contribute to engineering studies related to the installation of offshore pipelines and subsea structures.

You will develop numerical models, perform installation analyses, and support offshore operations by ensuring that installation activities are carried out within safe operational limits.

Key responsibilities

• Develop installation models and sequences for offshore pipelines and subsea structures using specialized simulation tools.
• Perform static and dynamic load calculations applied to pipelines and subsea installation structures (e.g., ILT, PLET, pipeline heads, subsea assemblies).
• Analyze installation scenarios to assess structural integrity during offshore operations.

Operational and environmental analysis

• Determine operational weather windows based on structural resistance criteria and environmental conditions.
• Process metocean data to evaluate vessel motions and associated loads on pipelines and subsea equipment.
• Provide engineering recommendations to ensure safe offshore installation operations.

Engineering tools & automation

• Develop Python scripts to automate post-processing tasks and analysis workflows.
• Improve analysis methodologies to enhance efficiency and reliability of engineering simulations.

Technical documentation

• Prepare technical reports and engineering notes summarizing analysis results.
• Address client comments and technical queries related to engineering deliverables.

Offshore support

• Participate in offshore installation campaigns when required.
• Provide engineering support onboard installation vessels during critical phases of operations.

Your profile

Education

• Engineering degree or Master’s degree in Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Experience in offshore engineering or installation analysis, ideally related to pipelines, subsea structures, or offshore construction projects.

Technical skills

• Experience with dynamic simulation tools such as OrcaFlex or equivalent.
• Understanding of offshore structural behaviour and installation engineering.
• Experience with Python scripting for data processing or engineering automation is a strong advantage.
