Vulcain Engineering Group is seeking an Offshore Structural Engineer focused on ABAQUS to perform detailed structural analysis for offshore and subsea structures, with emphasis on suction anchors. The role supports EPC projects from lifting to in-place installation, ensuring integrity and compliance.

We require a Master’s degree in Structural/Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of offshore EPC experience, with strong English technical proficiency.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Engineering degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Offshore Structural Engineer on EPC projects involving suction anchors.
• Strong knowledge of offshore codes and standards (ISO, DNV, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Structural modeling and analysis of offshore structures.
• Regulatory verifications for lifting operations, transportation, and in-place conditions (including stress and fatigue).
• Design structural reinforcements and modifications when required.
• Prepare calculation notes and detailed structural analysis reports.

Your mission

As an Offshore Structural Engineer - ABAQUS, you will be involved in the detailed structural analysis and design of offshore and subsea structures, with a strong focus on suction anchors.

You will contribute to EPC projects by performing advanced finite element analyses and ensuring structural integrity during all project phases: lifting, transportation, installation, and in-place conditions.

Your responsibilities

Structural modeling & analysis

• Model offshore structures within the global NSO model.
• Carry out regulatory structural verifications for:
• Lifting operations,
• Transportation,
• In-place conditions, including stress and fatigue assessments.
• Design structural reinforcements and modifications when required.
• Prepare calculation notes and detailed structural analysis reports summarizing results and conclusions.
• Transfer all relevant technical information to drafting teams for the preparation of drawings.

Project coordination & compliance

• Apply project procedures related to document management and task execution.
• Work in compliance with applicable project standards, rules, and engineering instructions.
• Coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
• Provide clear technical reporting to the Project Manager or Package Manager.

Your profile

Education: Master’s degree or Engineering degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an Offshore Structural Engineer on EPC projects involving suction anchors.

Technical expertise:

• Offshore and subsea structural design and analysis.
• Suction anchor design and verification.
• Strong knowledge of applicable offshore codes and standards (ISO, DNV, etc.).
• Proven experience with ABAQUS and NSO-ISYMOST software.

Skills:

• Ability to work strictly in accordance with project procedures and quality requirements.
• Strong coordination and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams.

Languages: Good technical English (reading and understanding of technical documentation).

Skills & tools

Software: ABAQUS, NSO-ISYMOST.

Standards: ISO, DNV and offshore engineering codes.

Languages: English (technical proficiency required).
