Job summary

The Civil Engineering Technician role supports NAVFAC construction management for a Key West contract. You will ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to contract provisions while coordinating field activities across multiple stakeholders.

Relocation to Key West, FL is required for the duration of the contract term (base year plus two option years). The position emphasizes site visits, documentation, and technical support to ensure timely, compliant project execution.

Qualifications

• Technical and practical knowledge and experience as an engineering technician, supervisor, or quality control/quality assurance role.
• Ability to review plans and specifications and ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Experience coordinating with multiple parties on construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain construction contract files per NAVFAC standards.
• Review plans and provide constructability comments during development.
• Visit project sites to assess conditions and develop recommendations.
• Coordinate post-award kickoff meetings and pre-construction conferences.
• Schedule and document progress meetings with all stakeholders.
• Prepare project status reports using NAVFAC systems.
• Coordinate operations between contractors and station personnel.
• Provide RFI responses and technical assistance.
• Monitor schedules, milestones, and material deliveries.
• Prepare cost estimates for contract modifications.
• Administer Quality Assurance Plans and QC programs.
• Monitor safety plans and ensure compliance with regulations.
