Hawthorne Health is seeking dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers to work as per diem independent contractors. You will travel regionally to patient homes for in-home imaging visits, with pay on a per-visit basis.

You will transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment, perform echocardiograms and vascular studies per protocol, and prepare preliminary reports while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Travel expenses are reimbursed per visit.

Qualifications

• Active registration in cardiac and vascular imaging (e.g. RDCS or RCS plus RVT or RVS).
• 3+ years of recent sonography experience in both cardiac and vascular imaging.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel locally/regionally.

About the Role

We are expanding our Home Network and seeking dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers to work Per Diem on an exciting new decentralized clinical study. In this role, you will travel regionally (may be local or across state lines) to patient homes to conduct in- home cardiac and vascular imaging visits, paid on a per-visit basis. Travel expenses incurred per visit may include mileage, airfare, and hotel accommodations, reimbursed on a per-visit basis.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

• Travel locally or across state lines to patient homes to conduct visits, volume varies by region
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging studies per protocol
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment

WHAT YOU BRING | REQUIREMENTS

• Active registration in both cardiac and vascular imaging required (e.g. RDCS or RCS plus RVT or RVS through ARDMS or CCI)
• Full time, or close to full time, availability
• 3+ years of recent sonography experience in both cardiac and vascular imaging
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally/regionally
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet required; tech savvy and self sufficient with digital tools
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
• Adaptability in dynamic, field-based environments
• Time management and organizational skills

$450 - $600 a day

• Rates are per visit, not per day
• Travel expenses as needed: mileage reimbursement, flight, rental car, and hotel accommodations.
