A leading chemical manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Millwright to join their team. The ideal candidate will have an Ontario Licensed Millwright certificate and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining PVC extrusion machinery, operating precision tools, and collaborating with other trades. This full-time position offers a competitive wage of $44.23 per hour, with continental shifts available.

Qualifications

• Previous relevant experience in PVC extrusion preferred.
• Able to work continental shift.
• Read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.

Overview

Millwright role at Westlake

Responsibilities

• Strong trouble-shooting skills of hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Work with a wide array of precision tools, such as Vernier Calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, OD tapes
• Perform and assist in the preventative and predictive maintenance of PVC extrusion machinery and equipment
• Collaborate with other trades’ groups and contractors to complete project assignments
• Operate grinder, saw, lathe and milling machines to make customized parts or repairs
• Fabricate custom parts, fixtures and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting
• Assemble and install machinery and equipment such as mixers, saws, pullers, precision bearings, gear boxes, clutches, motors, shafts, sprockets, chains, conveyors

Wage and Shift

Wage: $44.23 per hour

Night shift premium: $1.00

Shift: Continental

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Ontario Licensed Millwright certificate is required
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience post license
• Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts
• Previous relevant experience in extrusion of PVC automotive industry is preferred
• Able to work continental shift
• Read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Ability to work at heights and in enclosed spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Basic electrical training and troubleshooting experience would be an asset
