WTS Energy is looking for a Mechanical Lead in Paris, France to provide centralized mechanical engineering support to the operational fleet.

The role works closely with rig maintenance personnel, drilling supervisors, and equipment suppliers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of drilling, hoisting, circulation, and well-control equipment across the fleet.

Requirements

• Establish and oversee preventive maintenance strategies for drilling, hoisting, circulation, and BOP systems across the fleet.
• Conduct equipment failure investigations and root-cause analyses, implementing corrective measures to enhance reliability and minimize repeat issues.
• Deliver both remote and onsite technical assistance to rig maintenance personnel, supporting troubleshooting, commissioning, and major repair activities.
• Assist with rig move and commissioning activities by verifying the operational readiness and integrity of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate critical spare parts planning with supply chain teams to ensure optimal equipment availability and efficient inventory management.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (15+ years) in mechanical maintenance within drilling environments, including leadership positions on offshore rigs
• Practical knowledge of major drilling equipment manufacturers such as NOV, Aker MH, Varco, Canrig, Bentec, Wärtsilä, and Caterpillar
• Strong expertise in hydraulic systems, including top drives, BOP control systems, hydraulic power units, and riser tensioning equipment
• Good understanding of API regulations, reliability-based maintenance methodologies, and HSE standards within drilling operations
• Experience using CMMS software including Maximo, SAP, MM Fusion, AMOS, or similar systems
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical background
• Valid offshore medical and survival certifications with the ability to support offshore activities when required
• Strong English communication abilities; French language skills are highly beneficial
