Airswift is seeking an FPSO Topsides Rotating Engineer based in Paris, France, with the project moving to Asia (TBC). The role focuses on ensuring technical integrity and reliability of rotating equipment across the project lifecycle, including FATs, procurement support, and commissioning activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years in rotating equipment and at least 3 years on FPSO/offshore projects, and is fluent in English (French beneficial).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years in rotating equipment engineering or related roles.
  • Minimum 3 years on FPSO or offshore facilities.
  • Experience reviewing detailed engineering and vendor packages.
  • Strong knowledge of API, ISO, ASME standards.
  • Fluent English; French is a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Review and comment on detailed engineering documentation related to rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, gas turbines and associated systems).
  • Ensure compliance with API, ISO, ASME and project-specific standards.
  • Manage vendor deliverables and technical documentation throughout procurement.
  • Participate in FATs and support resolution of deviations and queries.
  • Coordinate interfaces between rotating equipment and Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC and Safety teams.
  • Support installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities for rotating systems.
  • Monitor preservation activities and quality compliance during fabrication and construction.
  • Review ITRs, punch lists, NCRs and completion dossiers.
  • Support supplier qualification and technical bid evaluations.
  • Participate in equipment selection studies including emissions and TCO assessments.

FPSO Topside Rotating Engineer

Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Location: Paris, France, then Asia (TBC)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (Residential)

Start date: September 2026

Position Overview

The FPSO Topsides Rotating Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, performance, and operational reliability of rotating equipment throughout the FPSO project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient engineering solutions. This position plays a key role in the detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases of the project, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and comment on detailed engineering documentation related to rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, gas turbines, and associated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including API, ISO, ASME, and project-specific requirements.
  • Manage vendor deliverables and technical documentation throughout the engineering and procurement phases.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and support resolution of technical deviations and queries.
  • Coordinate interfaces between rotating equipment packages and other engineering disciplines, including Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, and Safety.
  • Support installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for rotating equipment systems.
  • Monitor equipment preservation activities and quality compliance throughout fabrication and construction phases.
  • Review Inspection Test Records (ITRs), punch lists, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and completion dossiers.
  • Support supplier qualification processes and technical bid evaluations.
  • Participate in equipment selection studies, including emissions comparisons and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments.
  • Contribute to project progress reporting, schedule monitoring, and engineering readiness reviews.
  • Assist with risk assessments, management of change (MOC) activities, and mitigation planning.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, HAZOPs, technical audits, and project workshops.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering, inspection, or package management within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • At least 3 years of experience on FPSO, offshore production facilities, floating production units, or similar major offshore projects.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing detailed engineering documentation and vendor packages.
  • Strong background in rotating equipment including: Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, Gas turbines, Pumps, Associated auxiliary systems.
  • Experience conducting and participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Knowledge of procurement support, technical bid evaluations, and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary interface management during EPC project execution.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Strong understanding of international standards including API, ISO, and ASME.
  • Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Fluent English communication skills; French language skills are considered advantageous.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience on large-scale FPSO developments with major operators or EPC contractors.
  • Previous involvement in offshore commissioning campaigns and project start-up activities.
  • Exposure to system completion processes and turnover management.
  • Experience supporting technical audits and quality assurance processes.
