Job summary

Harmattan AI seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of next-generation Ground Control Systems hardware from concept through mass production. You will work at the intersection of mechanical design, RF integration, and electronics packaging to deliver field-ready, defense-grade products.

Responsibilities include CAD modelling, GD&T, DFM/DFA, FEA and thermal simulations, plus collaboration with electronics and supply chain teams to ensure successful production transfers and

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical disciplines or equivalent.
• Experience taking a full product development cycle from concept to mass production.
• Plastic injection molding with DFM, CNC and die-casting experience is preferred.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and large-scale thermoforming is desirable.
• Advanced SolidWorks CAD proficiency including surface modelling and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End design of drone-related hardware from concept to mass production.
• Own product development cycles, translating operator needs into rugged designs.
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with GD&T to meet requirements.
• Apply DFM/DFA to minimize cost and cycle time with external suppliers.
• Run FEA and thermal simulations to validate design choices early.
• Conduct mechanical testing and environmental validation of designs.
• Collaborate daily with Electronics and RF teams for PCB integration.
• Partner with Supply Chain on supplier qualification and rollout.
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation and production workflows.
