Alignerr is seeking a Mathematics Expert to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. You will design challenging mathematical problems, assess reasoning, and ensure rigor across complex tasks in a fully remote, hourly contract role.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, are deeply skilled in algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete math, and are proficient in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica. Strong communicator, fluent in English, with flexible, schedule-driven work.

• Deeply skilled in at least one of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics.
• Experienced with Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or computational work.
• Strong written communicator with attention to detail and clarity in explanations.

• Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and appropriate complexity.
• Apply your expertise to design rigorous problem statements in algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics.
• Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning and identify errors, gaps, or logical weaknesses.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance.

We're looking for Mathematics experts with graduate-level credentials to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. You'll design challenging problems, assess mathematical reasoning, and ensure AI systems meet the highest standards of rigor and accuracy.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for mathematicians who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule.

Who You Are

• Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
• Deeply skilled in at least one of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
• Experienced with Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or computational work
• Exceptionally precise and detail-oriented — you notice when an argument doesn't hold
• Strong written communicator who can explain complex ideas with clarity
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
• Background in applied mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science
• Experience writing or reviewing academic mathematics content
• Familiarity with AI tools or mathematical reasoning benchmarks
