SFBI in Paris offers an M2 internship focused on statistical genetics and proteomics of glycemic control in type 1 diabetes. The project works with HbA1c genetics, inflammatory proteomics, and CGM-derived metrics across multiple cohorts.
The role provides hands-on data analysis experience in a high-impact biomedical environment, bridging genetics, bioinformatics, and biostatistics. The internship is designed as the first step toward doctoral study.

Genetic and proteomic determinants of glycemic control in type 1 diabetes: from HbA1c meta-analysis to CGM-derived glycemic risk signatures
Managing glycemic control in type 1 diabetes (T1D) remains challenging despite insulin and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is the reference marker of long-term glycemic control, yet its genetic determinants in T1D are poorly characterized and it is only weakly correlated with the day-to-day glycemic variability captured by CGM metrics. Our group hypothesizes that glycemic variability is causal of T1D complications.
This is a data analysis (dry lab) project based on three French T1D cohorts (GENDIR, REVADIAB, GLUTADIAB), with three objectives:
The student will acquire solid skills in statistical genetics (association testing, meta-analysis, colocalization) and in the analysis of proteomic and CGM-derived data.
PhD opportunity: this M2 internship is designed as the first step of a PhD project
