Qualifications

• Strong background in LLMs, deep learning, or agentic AI with publications, open-source contributions, or deployed systems.
• Familiarity with latest advancements in LLM architectures and post-training.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX and model optimization techniques.
• Ability to understand at least one Natural Science domain at a high level.
• Engineering rigor in scientific computing and software best practices.

Responsibilities

• AI/ML Research: End-to-end training of LLM-based solutions focusing on scalability and scientific applicability.
• Data creation: Design workflows to collect high-quality scientific data at scale.
• Algorithm design: Improve reinforcement learning or agentic systems for natural sciences challenges.
• Interdisciplinary Bridge: Collaborate with domain scientists to translate AI advances into impact.
• Tooling & Infrastructure: Contribute to infrastructure for model training and open-source AI tools.
• Autonomous Innovation: Set a research agenda for AI in science and explore high-risk ideas.
