Kingston Police Department is hiring a Library Technician to support library services for 19 hours per week. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in library science and experience in a library, educational, or office setting.
Strong communication and public relations skills are essential, along with CORI certification as a condition of employment. The position offers a clerical pay grade with eligibility for stepwise growth within the FY27 framework.

Salary Grade 2 KTEU Clerical FY27 $22.31 - $29.00/hr
Recommended Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree; coursework in library science preferred; two years of related responsible experience in a library, educational or office setting; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill: Knowledge: Working knowledge of library procedures and operations. Knowledge of basic reference and cataloging procedures. Willingness to learn book repair and processing techniques. Board general knowledge. Ability: Ability to create congenial atmosphere and work with a broad range of people. Ability to plan, organize and implement programs. Ability to adapt to a wide range of responsibilities. Skill: Strong oral communication skills. Strong public relations skills. CORI certification is required as a condition of employment.
