Job summary

Shoreline Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician to join our hospital team. You will play a pivotal role in patient care, mentor team members, and promote high standards of clinical practice.

The ideal candidate has hands-on veterinary nursing experience, strong clinical skills, and a passion for staff development and continuous learning. You will collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional care and client education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of patient care, clinical procedures, diagnostic support, and nursing practices.
• Experience training or mentoring team members is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Compassion for animals and commitment to ongoing clinical development.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care during examinations, diagnostics, treatments, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and medication preparation.
• Support anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, safe restraint, and low-stress handling as trained.
• Communicate clearly with clients about pets’ health, diagnostics, treatments, and preventive care.
• Onboard, train, and mentor new and existing team members; promote consistent clinical practices.
