Job summary

Mistral AI in Paris seeks a senior leader to guide the container platform team from day one. You will balance architecture work with hands-on coding, building serverless container capabilities for AI workloads and ensuring scalable, low-latency delivery on our in-house metal and data centers.

You will hire, coach, and grow engineers while partnering with product teams to deliver a platform that developers trust for deploying AI apps at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of real people leadership with hands-on contribution.
• Shipped production systems in Go with strong ownership.
• Built container/workload platforms including orchestration and routing.
• Deep Linux knowledge: namespaces, cgroups, image layers.
• Experience with multi-tenancy, isolation, and fairness at scale.
• Collaborated with product, design, and business teams to ship user-facing software.
• Low-ego, team-first mindset and ability to coach engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the container platform end to end: image delivery, placement, routing, scale, and zero-to-thousand instances.
• Lead architecture decisions and tackle the hardest implementation challenges.
• Grow engineers, set ownership standards, and mentor team members.
• Manage people: hiring, performance, and growth paths.
• Partner with Product Managers to translate platform decisions into deployable products.
