Job summary

Mistral in Paris is seeking a people-leadership technologist to guide the serverless containers platform. You will own end-to-end architecture, oversee hiring, and drive performance improvements for AI workloads.

You will write Go, shape scheduling, routing, and scale-to-zero capabilities, and collaborate with product managers to turn platform decisions into deployments used by developers building next-gen AI software on European infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers and building teams.
• Shipped production Go systems.
• Built container or workload platforms (orchestration, scheduling, isolation, routing).
• Deep Linux knowledge: namespaces, cgroups, image layers.
• Strong multi-tenancy instincts for large fleets.
• Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams.
• Low-ego, team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the container platform end to end: image delivery, placement, request routing, scale-up, scale-to-zero across CPU and GPU.
• Make cold starts a solved problem with snapshotting, prewarming, image-layer caching.
• Grow engineers, set ownership standards, coach teams beyond comfort zone.
• Write Go alongside the team and own architecture and implementation decisions.
• Own people management for the team: hiring, performance, growth paths, feedback.
• Partner with Product Managers to turn platform decisions into deployable products.
