Alice & Bob is building the first universal fault-tolerant quantum computer and needs an experienced RF & Electronics Engineer to scale control systems for qubit processors.

Reporting to the Hermes Team Lead, you will design RF hardware, build test benches, automate measurements, and ensure spectral purity and power stability as we scale up quantum processors. This role blends hands-on hardware with cross‑functional collaboration across physics and software teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in RF design, characterization, and control electronics, including PCB design.
• Strong RF design and signal processing skills with hands-on experience designing RF PCBs and using 3D EM simulation tools.
• Comfortable with FPGA integration for control electronics and RF/electrical test equipment (VNAs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, SMUs)
• Python skills for test automation and remote instrument control (SCPI)

Responsabilités

• Design custom RF hardware (power amplifiers, LNAs, filters, bias tees) and PCB front-ends where commercial solutions fall short, using 3D EM simulation to validate designs before prototyping
• Define measurement plans and build test setups and characterization benches, running V&V (mostly in Python) with VNAs, oscilloscopes, SMUs, and spectrum analyzers
• Design or upgrade existing RF/DC systems to evolving requirements (spectral purity, pulse shape, power stability) following the scale up of quantum processors and control channels
• Troubleshoot technical issues across instrumentation, control electronics, and PCB hardware, driving root-cause analysis when needed
• Work closely with Quantum Hardware Infra colleagues, physicists, and software engineers, keep an eye on the state of the art, and document your work as you go
